Leadership Minutes – Your Definition of Leadership

The “Leadership Minutes” series is designed to provide essential leadership education and motivation in just 1 minute.

I will be creating an initial series of 10 informative and inspiring videos to provide important leadership education to help us all on the path of continuous improvement.

I would like to start by sharing the first video in the series, entitled “Your Definition of Leadership.” This video explores the importance of having a clear definition of leadership and how it can impact your approach to your role as a fire chief.

I am confident that these videos will provide valuable guidance and inspiration to help you continue to develop as a leader. I encourage you to take the time to watch these videos and apply what you learn to your own leadership style.

If you would like to receive the latest lesson directly in your inbox every week, simply click below to sign up.

I would welcome any feedback you may have on this series.

I’d like to talk with you about leadership. Something that you need to really think about. Do you have a definition of leadership? If you don’t, why not? You wanna change your fuzzy thinking into focused thinking. Leaders need to know what it is in order to earn it.

You need to know what leadership is. I want you to think about it. Take some time to write down your definition of leadership. Leadership is … and say exactly what you think leadership is in one, two, or three sentences. Once you’ve done that, think about it for a while. Share it with a friend, someone you trust.

Go over it back and forth a little bit and sharpen it. And that can be your definition of leadership. And later on in one of these episodes, I’ll give you my definition of leadership, but in the meantime, you think of yours, take some time to write it down and think it through. Your definition of leadership.
