A rich collection of leadership content: stories of courage, determination, and purpose.

1836 Leadership focuses on the leadership stories and lessons of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. These two confrontations, taken together, are a rich collection of leadership content: stories of courage, determination, and purpose. You will experience the Siege of the Alamo, which after 13 days resulted in all of the defenders being killed. Scarcely one month later, Santa Anna was defeated at San Jacinto in a battle that lasted 18 minutes.

This Experience will improve your leadership through a focus on the styles and tools employed by William Travis and Sam Bowie at the Alamo, and by Sam Houston at San Jacinto. Our modules will include Leaders Intent and Purpose, Communication, and Character.

1863 Leadership focuses on leadership stories and lessons of the Civil War. This period of American History is rich with examples of exemplary military and political leadership, as well as some dramatic failures as the nation struggled to find its bearings and ensure its survival. You will examine the leadership styles and stories, and their use of tools and techniques to influence and inspire.

This Experience will improve your leadership through a focus on the leadership skills and styles of Generals U.S. Grant, Lee, McClelland, Longstreet, and others. We will highlight the strategies of influence and communication that changed the trajectory of the war, and indeed the survival of the nation.

We can conduct this experience at a variety of locations, including Vicksburg, Richmond, or Gettysburg.

The extraordinary leaders of the Allied forces on D-Day and the days that followed.

1944 Leadership is about the extraordinary leaders of the Allied forces on D-Day and the days that followed resulting in the end of World War II in Europe. Some of them, like Eisenhower, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., and George Patton, are well known, while others are barely a footnote in the history books.

The stories and lessons for this Experience are drawn from the book “Seven Leadership Lessons of D-Day”, written by Colonel John Antal. It comprises over 10 hours of instruction, including case studies, interactive exercises, and simulations.

Participants will see how these leaders defined and applied their leadership, created common goals and collaboration, and built important coalitions in order to impel their teams and achieve victory. Leadership module topics for this experience include: Influence, Selflessness, Courage, Adaptability, The Point of Decision, and Leaders’ Intent.

This Experience can be delivered as a weeklong exercise in Normandy, or as a 2-day program in a number of memorable US locations.
