(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /var/www/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114When we contemplate leadership, we often paint a picture in our minds of leaders as charismatic, powerful, and heroic. While many leaders do possess these qualities, a more prevalent feature of effective leadership is humility.
Humility in leadership does not imply the absence of ego or ambition. Rather, humble leaders are better able to channel their ambition back into the organization, not into themselves. Leadership quality is compromised when the leader’s purpose is personal gain rather than focused on the collective mission. Leaders showing humility don’t diminish their power to influence, they amplify it by relegating their own importance to that of the mission.
To be a better leader, try leaving your ego at the door.
